❥ SHINHWA’s Vogue Dance.
This is Japan in a nutshell. Forget all the crazy stuff with the weird tv programs and the cosplaying—that’s just the outer shell that gets attention because it’s unusual. This, this is the beauty of the country. I’ve had little grandmothers chase me down because I dropped my shinkansen tickets. In amusement parks, the attendants do their upmost to get lost items (usually cardigans or kids’ shoes) back to the owners—before the owners even realize they’d lost said item(s). I’ve had complete strangers not only give my thorough directions but have offered to drive me to the place I needed to go.
It is so, so, so hard to go back to the States after you get the J-treatment. I mean, Japan has its downside (“What is this madness you call pizza???”), but the general attitudes of everyone—even the so-called hardcore yankees (two of whom who, on a blazing summer day, helped me find one of my schools when I was heinously lost in the labyrinth that is the neighborhood in which said school is located)—is the epitome of the mindset that I wish everyone would adopt. Because yelling at people gets you nowhere. And being able to empathize with people kinda helps make this country a really nice place to live in.

Leafy Sea Dragons
These stunning sea dragon pictures illuminate their mysterious beauty and extraordinary adaptations. The near-invisibility of their fins gives the sea dragons the appearance of floating seaweed that is drifting with the currents. Instead of scales, they have protective armor to ward off predators. The row of spines along their backs can also wound attackers. At other times they will curl into balls like porcupines in self defense. Truly extraordinary creatures.
If you guys cosplay, please watch this :)
this woman’s work is so fantastic and so inspirational. also, this makes me want a tv show centering around the art and culture of cosplay even more. wouldn’t that be awesome?!!
this video made me happy =D
I love this.
And I see Aicosu in here!
Thank you.
Definitely watch this video guys! It’s an amazing interview with Ger, who not only is an amazing cosplayer, but is also completing work on her book that catalogs this hobby we know and love.
We had the pleasure of meeting her for a photoshoot and an interview for her book. And she’s just a joy!

there is nothing romantic about
- not knowing you’re beautiful
- loving someone until they learn to love themselves
please stop romanticizing low self esteem.
it’s one thing to love a person who happens to have low self esteem
it’s another thing to frame low self esteem as a desirable trait.
“you don’t know you’re beautiful and that’s what makes you beautiful” lol
I always thought it sounded like they would love her until she realized it and then they would dump her.
“Hey, your low self esteem is what makes you beautiful so I wrote you a song to convince you that you’re beautiful, but then you won’t have low self esteem anymore so idk…”
“I’ll love you UNTIL you learn to love yourself.”
you see, kiddo, a ship is formed when I decide two people love each other very much
